High Density Polyethylene or HDPE is a polyethylene thermoplastic made from petroleum. Generally, it is slightly opaque, transparent and elastic. HDPE is characterized by impermeability to water, odorless, higher specific strength and heat resistance. Indonesian people are familiar with term HDPE plastic bags as HD bags, crackle bags, asoy bags, HD plastic bags, or shopping bags. HDPE (High Density Polyethylene) is a raw material for the type of HDPE plastic which generally result in the form of plastic bags, roll plastics, and sheet plastics with a variety of color.
HDPE consists of several types as follows:
> HDPE Anti-Heat Plastic Bag (HD ATP) is commonly used to hold hot foods and beverages.
> HDPE (HD) Plastic Bagis generally used to carry a variety of groceries.
> HDPE Roll (HD Roll) Plastic Bag is commonly used as a bag to fill up on fruits, vegetables or other goods and is also used as wrapping paper.
> HDPE Plastic Pad (HD Sheet) is generally used as the base/coating of hot food containers or as a food wrapper.
